Varicocele is one of the most common causes of male infertility. It occurs when veins within the scrotum become enlarged and erotic dilated, leading to abnormal blood flow around the testes.
The primary problem associated with varicocele is increased scrotal temperature. Since sperm production requires a temperature slightly lower than normal body temperature, elevated heat levels can impair spermatogenesis.
Many men with varicocele experience no symptoms, but some may report scrotal discomfort or swelling. Diagnosis is usually confirmed through physical examination and ultrasound imaging.
Treatment options include surgical repair or minimally invasive procedures designed to restore normal blood flow.
